How to Measure Yourself for the Perfect Jacket Fit
Choosing the right size is key to both comfort and style. Follow this simple guide to measure yourself accurately before ordering your leather or shearling jacket. All you need is a flexible measuring tape and a mirror.
Step 1: Chest Measurement
Stand straight and relax your arms at your sides.
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, just under your armpits.
Make sure the tape is flat and snug but not tight.
Step 2: Shoulder Width
Measure across the back of your shoulders, from one shoulder bone to the other.
Keep the tape straight across your upper back, not curved.
✅ Ensures your jacket fits well across the shoulders.
Step 3: Sleeve Length
Place one end of the tape at the top of your shoulder.
Run it down the outside of your arm to your wrist bone.
Keep your arm slightly bent for accuracy.
✅ This gives the correct sleeve length so it’s not too short or too long.
Step 4: Waist Measurement
Wrap the tape around your natural waistline (usually just above your belly button).
Keep the tape comfortably snug.
✅ Helps ensure your jacket closes properly without being too tight.
Step 5: Jacket Length (Optional)
Measure from the top of your shoulder (near your neck) straight down to where you want the jacket to end.
For fashion jackets, this is usually just below the waist; for biker jackets, often slightly longer.
Tips for Accurate Measurement
✔ Measure over light clothing (not thick sweaters).
✔ Take each measurement twice for accuracy.
✔ If you fall between two sizes, we recommend going one size up for comfort.
